Protecting life is everyone’s duty.”
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani also sent his greetings, through his legal advisor Raffaella Bonsangue. “I think of all the people, all the parents who experience the hardships of difficult pregnancies, who then face the ordeal of distances, of the problems of hospital structures – said Monsignor Benoni Ambarus, auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Rome for the field of diakonia of charity – It is as if life needed a huge delivery room – he added – a huge, non-physical place where to give and receive love. In a small way, all this happens with this structure, whose realization certainly has required what I call the ‘stubbornness of love’.”
“The idea came from the need to make use of these services, having as a family gone through an experience of pathological pregnancy, accompanying our son in the difficult post-partum moments, up until his ascent to Heaven – said Jacopo Coghe, spokesperson for Pro Vita & Famiglia onlus – La Casa – will be able to accommodate up to 3 families for variable periods depending on needs. Suffice it to say that in the last year alone, over 79% of the requests for assistance received in Rome came from families residing outside the Region. Lazio, to treat very serious prenatal pathologies such as: structural malformations, polymalformation syndromes, chromosomopathies, lymphangiomatosis and heart diseases”. Pro Vita & Famiglia’s contribution, in this project, will materialize, concluded Coghe, “in the daily management of the apartment and in daily assistance to families with utility costs, telephony, for daily needs, access to public services and educational and recreational entertainment proposals for any other children”.
“A place designed with love and dedication that will be a beacon of hope and support for those who face these challenges with courage – explained Massimiliano Maselli, councilor for Social Inclusion and Human Services of the Lazio Region and personal delegate of the President Francesco Rocca – The inauguration of Chiara’s House – he added – represents a significant step towards promoting the dignity of unborn life”. “I knew Chiara and her family very well, present here today, and I lived with extreme closeness and pain when she left us on 13 June 2012 – said Antonio Brandi, president of Pro Vita & Famiglia onlus – and it was precisely from that moment that our commitment to life was born and Pro Vita was founded, inspired by Chiara’s virtues of love and perseverance. It was her testimony that inspired us to dedicate this House to her, which aims to provide a welfare, psychological response , medical and also spiritual, therefore a concrete alternative to abortion sought by many families who wish to welcome their children despite the pathology”.
“As the Il Cuore in una Goccia Foundation we have gratefully welcomed the initiative to provide support and help to families with serious fetal pathologies who turn to us from all over Italy to be supported and accompanied – finally explained Giuseppe Noia, Associate Professor of the Catholic University of Prenatal Medicine and president of the Foundation – Our social and health services do not stop at the medical-clinical-scientific response alone, but embrace the couple, the family with a whole other series of supportive supports: consultancy and medical-scientific assistance together with a family and testimonial network and spiritual assistance which is completed by psychological and when necessary also economic support. A medicine, therefore, made of concrete aid that serves fragile life and produces traces of hope”.
