Another tragedy at work, a 25 year old boy dies: that blow to the head was fatal

Dramatic episode in the woods of Val Sadole: a 25-year-old Romanian woodcutter lost his life this morning after being hit by a log cut by a colleague

Yet another death at work: this morning, Thursday 19 September, a young man sadly lost his life lumberjack of Romanian origins while he was working in the woods of Sadole Valleyin the municipality of Ziano di Fiemme, just above the forest road of the Cercenai area.

According to the first reconstructions carried out by the Trentino Alpine Rescue regarding the tragic accident, it would seem that the 25 year old was fatally struck in the head by a logprobably after being cut by a colleague. The dynamics are still being examined by investigators who will have to proceed with all the necessary investigations.

The woodcutter’s colleagues immediately raised the alarm. Around 8:30, the station operators promptly arrived at the scene of the accident. Val di Fiemme of the Alpine Rescue, the firefighters of Ziano And Benchthe carabinieri of Cavalese and the ambulance. In addition, a helicopter was also requested.

Unfortunately, despite the desperate attempts of the paramedics to save him through resuscitation procedures, there was nothing that could be done for the boy. The victim’s body was then transported downstream, following the clearance of the competent authorities.

Who was the young woodcutter who lost his life?

It was called Simon Vasile Florin the woodcutter, who died today in a tragic accident.

He would have turned 25 next November. The young man, who worked in a logging company in the valley, died from a head injury after a log accidentally fell on him.

Simon had come from Romania to the Fiemme Valley with an uncle to work in the woods of Trentino. He leaves behind a girlfriend.

The mayor of the municipality of Ziano, Mariachiara Deflorianexpressed his condolences and closeness to the family and colleagues of the young victim:
