Sporting goods maker Adidas has terminated its collaboration with the Russian Football Federation with immediate effect, a company spokeswoman told EFE.
This decision comes after the Russian invasion of Ukraine last Thursday.
What the contract with Russia meant for Adidas
Adidas invoiced 584 million euros in Russia / Commonwealth of Independent States in 2020, 11% less than in 2019 (658 million euros in 2019) due to the negative effects of the depreciation of the ruble. This amount represents 3% of the firm’s total turnover.

The current contract between Adidas and the Russian federation was valid until the end of this year. They had already had a conflict in 2019, when the Russians rejected the design of the shirt for Euro 2020.
