This morning, Saturday 30 March, several customers of Bnl, a bank of the Bnp Paribas group, recorded multiple debits on their current account, with the result in some cases of seeing the balance cleared or negative. It was a technical problem which the credit institution took steps to remedy within a few hours.
“We inform you that the correct situation relating to the anomaly that generated multiple charges on current account movements has been restored,” we read in a message published by the institute on its social accounts. “The Customer Service number, which was previously unreachable due to the excessive volume of incoming calls, is becoming regularly accessible again thanks to the strengthening of the service to respond to requests. We apologize for the inconvenience”.
A notice published on the bank's app instead reads: “You may encounter multiple charges on current account movements. We have identified the cause of the anomaly and are already working to restore the correct situation as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience”.
An account holder from Catanzaro was charged nine times for the two installments he had due today. “Within a few minutes – he says on Facebook – I was inundated with similar messages from others in the same conditions. At least a hundred. Unfortunately, however, in my case the total that was charged to me, nine times, exceeded the sum of 5 thousand-odd euros, leaving me practically penniless.”
“Considering that today I am unable to use my credit card and that tomorrow and Monday the shops are closed, I won't even be able to go shopping,” complains the customer. “Imagine the discomfort I am forced to endure. Something unacceptable.”
