Annual General Meetings Finnair takes a very exceptional measure: Cancels the Annual General Meeting and postpones it for two weeks – Change of chairman canceled due to changed operating environment

The Annual General Meeting will be held on April 7, 2022.

Carrier Finnair will cancel the Annual General Meeting convened on Thursday, March 24, 2022, and will issue a new invitation to the Annual General Meeting to be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022. This is a very exceptional measure.

Finnair announced earlier on Friday that the planned proposal to change the chairman of the company’s Board of Directors will be canceled.

According to the company, its nomination committee, the current chairman of the board Jouko Karvinen and nominated as chairman of the board Kari Stadigh have jointly stated that due to the changes in the company’s operating environment, it is important to ensure the continuity of the work of the Board of Directors, and the change of the Chairman of the Board is not considered appropriate in these circumstances.

Contrary to what was previously announced, the Nomination Board proposes that Jouko Karvinen be re-elected as a member of the Board and Chairman of the Board. Karvinen has been a member of Finnair’s Board of Directors since 2016 and Chairman of the Board since 2017

As the Annual General Meeting will be held in accordance with the interim law, the company will have to submit a new invitation to the Annual General Meeting and re-implement the preliminary procedures related to the Annual General Meeting, Finnair says in a press release.
