Soviet and Russian TV and radio host Igor Kirillov, who died at the age of 90, will be buried at the Novodevichy cemetery in Moscow. This was announced on Saturday, October 30, by his widow Tatiana.

Igor Kirillov was born in Moscow on September 14, 1932 in the family of a military engineer. his mother was a librarian at a large car factory. He dreamed of working in cinema, even entered VGIK, but due to the circumstances, after the first year, he left for the famous “Sliver”.
The host has been leading the Vremya program for over 20 years. It was he who informed the citizens about the launch of the first artificial Earth satellite in 1957 and about the flight of Yuri Gagarin into space in 1961. He hosted live broadcasts of the May 9 Victory Parades.
The announcer received the title of People’s Artist of the USSR, was awarded the USSR State Prize, Orders of Merit for the Fatherland IV and III degrees, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.
