Cavusoglu said, on the sidelines of a NATO ministerial meeting in Brussels, “I invited him to visit Turkey. We agreed to meet during Ramadan (…). We will be happy to receive Mr. Shoukry again in our country.”
The minister indicated that the date of the visit has not been confirmed yet, and “our colleagues are working to prepare for it.”
Ramadan is expected to end on April 21.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister had previously visited Turkey at the end of February, after the devastating earthquake that killed more than 50,000 people in Turkey and Syria.
From the port of Mersin in southern Turkey, where an Egyptian aid ship docked to Turkey, Cavusoglu said in a press conference with his Egyptian counterpart, “We are opening new pages in our relations with Egypt.”
