Lewis Hamilton's historic trainer
Formula 1 fans have become familiar with the face of Angela Cullen in her role as Lewis Hamilton's trainer. The separation between the two, which occurred at the start of the 2023 World Cup after 7 years together, had caused a stir.
A few days later it was Toto Wolff – number one on the Mercedes pit wall – who explained that the decision had been made by the British champion, eager “of a change” and talking about “things that no longer worked”. Hamilton then subsequently underlined that he is still in contact with the New Zealand physiotherapist and that he still has great affection for her.

On the last weekend Angela Cullen's return to motorsport it did not go unnoticed and was immediately captured by photographers. The trainer was in fact in the paddock IndyCar for the 1 Million Challenge, not as a spectator, but in the role of assistant to Marcus Armstrong.
The 23-year-old driver himself – managed by Nicolas Todt and former Ferrari Academy – confirmed the collaboration: “She's also New Zealand and we hit it off. Things are going well so far, physically I've put on some weight. These cars are brutally difficult to drive and you need to be in top shape.”
