There are over 600 specialists in anesthesia and resuscitation dedicated to pre- and intra-hospital emergencies gathered in Turin, at the National Congress of the Emergency Cultural Area (Ace) organized by the Italian Society of Anesthesia, Analgesia, Resuscitation and Intensive Care (Siaarti), chaired by Antonino Giarratano, professor of the University of Palermo.
“Today in Turin we decided to create a national focus on what concerns emergency-urgency both in intra-hospital and extra-hospital systems – explains Giarratano – From this point of view we are very happy to be here, we had a large participation and we believe that the anesthetist-resuscitator already has a central role in the management of intra-hospital and extra-hospital emergencies in our healthcare systems. It is clear that this role and this function are not separated from the role that other disciplines, other professions, for example nurses, must have. ; but it is equally clear that from this point of view the quality of training that Siaarti can guarantee, through the activity it carries out every year in the area and which it also carries out in these two days, is of fundamental importance”.
“Any project for the reform of both local emergency health systems and hospital health systems must be built on the quality of training and on the fact that the scientific society produces good clinical practices. From this point of view we are working hard both at of the technical table of the Ministry of Health, both with the regional models; certainly the regional model of Piedmont, Lombardy but also of other Regions that are represented here today is a very important reference for the path that Siaarti has undertaken and in which he believes a lot.”
