An open microphone has betrayed this Thursday, during the Plenary of the City of Calvià (Mallorca), to the second deputy mayor, Isabel Bonet (PP), who, for a moment of the session, has issued the mayor, Juan Antonio Amengual: “It is menopause”, referring to the criticisms that the spokeswoman of the PSIB-PSOE, Nati French, to an intervention of the Vox spokesman.
At one point, during the bronco moment of tension that was producing, the microphone has captured the popular governor by moving the comment to the first mayor before his stupor gesture. Just a few seconds before, Bonet has placed French, guarding him: “Say here, please”, since at that moment the socialist was abandoned the plenary with her groupmates.
French was criticizing the previous intervention of the Vox spokesman, Manuel Mas, in relation to a motion presented following some attacks on the formation headquarters.
Specifically, French had raised some doubts to the Plenary Secretary, whose response has been qualified by more as “a zasca.” The Vox has referred below to the lack of “reading comprehension” of the mayor of the PSOE, at which time the Socialists have abandoned the room.
All this despite the attempt of mediation by the mayor, who has even asked the Vox spokesman to rectify that “he can share the background, but not the forms.”
After the facts, the president of the Congress and general secretary of the PSIB-PSOE, Francina Armengol, has asked “when it will be the day that women are not insulted by the simple fact of being women.” In a message from the social network X, the former president of the Balearic Government has referred in these terms to the episode lived in the Plenary of Calvià, in which he has sent a “strong hug” to the socialist spokeswoman in the Consistory Calvianer.

At one point, it could be heard how Amengual said: “We can’t vote that no, are you crazy?”
At that moment, a motion presented by the PSOE was being discussed in which it claimed that, in the escolets, in addition to the four teaching hours subsidized by the Government for the ages of 2 to 3 years, the Consistory was responsible for paying for other expenses such as the dining room, the Matinera or the playroom with municipal funds.
Calvià, historical socialist fief, is currently governed by an alliance between PP and Vox despite the fact that the PSIB-PSOE was the party that won the municipal elections of 2023. One of the controversies emerged at the beginning of the current legislature was the appointment of Esther Ribas, sister of the end of Vox spokesperson in the parliament, Idoia Ribas, as head of the local police. Municipality. From the Consistory they assured that they took into account “their wide curriculum and their training, regardless of their family relationships and the fact that she is a woman.”
Within the distribution of charges between PP and VOX when forming government in Calvià, the Local Police is one of the areas that entered under Vox’s domain, as well as other departments such as culture, foreigners or equality, fundamental for the party against what they call the “cultural battle” against progressivism.
