The 5-year-old mare “Doha”, descended from the offspring of “Al Murtajaz and Topaz de Croat bint Dorman”, owned by Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani and produced by Al Shaqab Racing and under the supervision of trainer Thomas Forsey and led by jockey Michael Barzalona, was able to record an impressive victory and be crowned with the title of the French Station Race for the Owner’s Cup. The champion covered the race distance in a time of 02:12:04 minutes, so that “Doha”, ranked 122, won the fourth victory in her career, in addition to the 5 places she achieved from 9 participations, as the mare succeeded in achieving her second title in the path of the precious cup after winning the British Station Race title last year.
“Moshref” came in second in the race, owned by Khalifa bin Shuail Al Kuwari, under the supervision of trainer Thomas Forsey and led by jockey Maxime Gayon, while third place was placed by the horse “RB King Maker”, champion of the President’s Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses at the Abu Dhabi Racecourse in February 2024, as he descends from the lineage of “Moshref”. Basiq Al Khalidiya and RB Royal Madam Bint Majd Al Arab, owned by National Stables, under the supervision of trainer Hilal Al Alawi, and under the leadership of jockey Christian Demuro.
On the other hand, the colt “Metropolitan”, owned by Peter R. Bradley and Scuderia Scolari, succeeded in winning the French Emirates Guineas title for colts of the first category, which was held for a distance of 1,600 metres, at the Long Champ track, under the supervision of trainer Mario Parati and led by jockey Alexis Bouchin. The champion succeeded in covering the race distance in a time of 1:37:84 minutes, and the Dancing Jimny came in second place, while the Cantor came in third place.
The filly “Rouhiyah,” owned by the Aga Khan, also succeeded in winning the French Guineas title for fillies of the first category, which was held for a distance of 1,600 meters at the Long Champ Racecourse, under the supervision of trainer Francis-Henri Gravard and led by the jockey Maxime Guyon. The total prizes for the race amount to 550 thousand euros, and it is held under the sponsorship of the President’s Cup. For purebred Arabian horses.
