An emergency regime was declared in several villages of the Tyumen region due to an outbreak of bird flu at a local poultry farm. It is reported by TASS to the regional headquarters.
According to the agency, the emergency regime was introduced in the villages of Borovsky and Andreevsky at 20:00 on October 16. Prior to that, the poultry farm was quarantined for three weeks, and the birds were seized.
In early October, experts found out the reason for the mass death of birds on the Crimean Peninsula in the area of the Arabat Spit. According to the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic Olga Slavgorodskaya, the bird flu caused the death of the birds. Experts advise against visiting the site of the outbreak to prevent further spread of the disease, which is fatal to animals.
In July, it became known that three people in China had contracted the highly pathogenic H5N6 avian influenza. One of them, a 54-year-old woman, died ten days after showing the first symptoms. Infection cases were recorded in the south-west of the country.
