A atlantic front will tour this Friday Peninsula and will leave almost widespread rainfall from west to eastwhich can be strong and persistent in areas of the east and northeast, the Meseta and northwest of Galicia, according to the forecasts of the State Meteorological Agencya (Aemet), which also provides for a drop in temperatures.
As a consequence, ten autonomous communities are in yellow alert (risk for certain activities) due to heavy rainwith the possibility of hail and storms, which will be recorded especially in the center, northeast and extreme east of the peninsula with accumulations of up to 25 liters per square meter in an hour.
Specifically, the communities of Andalusia, Aragon, Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, Murcia, Navarre, Basque Country, Rioja and Country Valencia. Galicia is added to them, although due to coastal phenomena. The rains may be accompanied by hail, especially in northern and mountain areas, as well as in the extreme east of the peninsula.
As the front passes, the skies will be slightly cloudy, with occasional showerwhich will be less likely and intense in the west of the Plateau and Andalusia, as well as on the southeastern coasts. In Canary Islands the probable rainfall will be weak in the north of the islands of greater relief and in the rest the skies will be clearer.
Possible will be given snowfall in northwest mountains and peaks of the Pyreneeson a day when the snow level will go down to 1,200 and 1,600 meters in mountains of the northwest and will be higher than 2,200 in peaks of the Pyrenees.
The temperatures will suffer a decline almost generalized, which will be remarkable in the minimum western areas and in the maximums in the northwestwhile in the Canary Islands and in the eastern Mediterranean area they will not change, in a day with possible isolated weak frosts in the mountains of the center, the north and in Sierra Nevada.
The east will turn to the west in the Narrow and Alboranand the southerly component wind will predominate in the rest of the Mediterranean area. In the rest of the Peninsula the wind will be from the westwith probable intervals and strong gusts in the Cantabrian coasts and northern Galicia, and in the Canary Islands the trade wind will be moderate with strong gusts in exposed areas.
