In Primorye, the court left in a pre-trial detention center the American Gordon Black, accused of theft. This is reported by TASS.
The foreigner’s defense wanted to challenge the decision of the Pervomaisky District Court of Vladivostok on May 3, but the higher authority left everything unchanged. Black said in his appeal that his plans do not include leaving Russia. According to him, he can even live with his partner, who is the victim in his case.
Black was detained in Vladivostok for beating a woman and stealing 200 thousand rubles from her. Investigators opened a criminal case against him under Article 158 (“Theft”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The court sent the American into custody until July 2.
The Pentagon said Staff Sergeant Gordon Black was recently assigned to the US military base at Camp Humphreys in South Korea and was planning to return to Texas, but went through China to Russia without official permission. He has a wife and child in the USA.
