Más Madrid has denounced this Tuesday that the Center councilor, Carlos Segura, has used the institutional email to sell the PP’s Christmas lottery among City Hall officials. The event, which this party describes as “extremely serious,” occurred this morning from the official email of the Municipal Board of the Center.
“We inform you that the Center PP Christmas lottery is now available in the council,” explained the email that the council workers received at the Center District Municipal Board. These lottery entries cost 5 euros, of which a part (€0.80) serves to finance the activities of the district group of the Almeida party, while the rest is played in the extraordinary draw on December 22.
“He has even used the corporate signature of the Councilor’s secretariat,” they explain from the opposition party. Its spokesperson, Rita Maestre, has posted the original email received by the officials on her X account:
“We find this self-serving confusion between party and institution, inappropriate for a democracy, a shame,” they explain from Más Madrid, which has demanded explanations as to why this email was sent, intended to propagate the party that governs and to obtain economic benefits from it. with lottery sales. “The PP hijacks the institutions: it believes that the Madrid City Council is its farm,” Maestre has gone so far as to say.
The Centro Board explains to this newspaper that the email was sent from the councilor’s office because questions had been received about how to obtain the lottery, as in other years. But they recognize that it was “a mistake” to report in this way and the affected councilor himself, Carlos Segura, accepts the ruling and has apologized. “It is an email that was sent without any bad intention,” add municipal sources.
