Mexico.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador plans to expand the scope of some of his social programs, since he has agreed on the intention that the pension granted to disabled people are universal and this helps people of all ages.
It was during his visit to the Sierra de Sonora and Chihuahua, where AMLO who led a meeting with local authorities, explained that he is working with state governments to make these pensions a universal right.
“I take this opportunity to tell you that we are about to reach agreements with the state governments so that the pension (for people with disabilities) is extended and reaches everyone, because now it is up to 29 years old, girls and boys up to 29, and older than 65”, Lopez Obrador mentioned.
In this sense, the president pointed out that there is still a need to attend to people between the ages of 29 and 65 who have disabilities and do not receive support. Therefore, work is being done in coordination with the governments of the entities so that all those with disabilities can access a pension.
During his message, AMLO highlighted the support provided through the various programs implemented by the Fourth Transformation, such as pensions for the elderly, sowing life, among others.
