First modification:
A text of the Supreme Court of Justice dated in February and leaked this week to the digital portal ‘Politico’ revealed the intention of the magistrates to revoke the ruling of the case known as Roe versus Wade, of 1973, which granted him the right to women to voluntarily terminate pregnancy.
President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris expressed their opposition to the eventual reversal of the law, in a fact that already marks the campaign ahead of the mid-term elections to be held in November and in which a third of the House of Representatives and the entire Senate. Precisely the current Senate, with a Democratic majority, has already announced a project to protect it.
The text with the decision is signed by four male justices and affects 58 percent of women in the United States, who are of childbearing age. They are the conservatives Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Brett Cavanaugh, Neil Gorsuch and Amy Conney Barrett. The last three appointed by the former Republican president, Donald Trump.
This is one of the most controversial issues in the American Union, along with the right to bear arms. However, according to a survey published by the same ‘Politico’ portal, 50 percent of the Americans consulted believe that the historic ruling should not be reversed; 28 percent believe so and 22 percent have no opinion on the matter.
According to the 2020 census, the female population in the United States represents 50.52 percent of the total… slightly higher than the male population.
