AMD looks set to conquer the low-end of the graphics card market with two new models, the RX 7400 and RX 7300. According to the source of the information, namely Komachi Ensaka, both would be based on the Navi 33 GPU, already present on the RX 7600, these cards could represent an interesting option for those on a limited budget.
There Navi 33 GPUwith its 2048 shader cores and a 128-bit memory interface, offers performance comparable to NVIDIA’s RTX 4060, the entry-level card of this generation. The new RX 7400 and 7300 could be limited versions of this GPU, with a reduced number of active cores or a different memory configuration.
It remains to be seen what the target market for these graphics cards will be. With the RX 7600 already available at prices between 250 and 300 euros, AMD could aim for an even lower price range, around 150-200 euros.
AMD’s new cards could offer performance advantages over the GPUs integrated into current processors, making them an attractive option for those on a budget who can’t afford a full system upgrade. Additionally, the hardware decoding support for AV1 streams, which is present in all RDNA 3 chips, could also make them attractive for those who use their PC for multimedia purposes.
The launch of the RX 7400 and 7300 could intensify competition in the entry-level segment, especially with Intel, which recently launched its Arc cards. NVIDIA, on the other hand, seems to have abandoned the super entry-level segment with this generation, leaving room for its competitors.
The arrival of the new AMD RX 7400 and 7300 graphics cards could represent a turning point in the entry-level market, offering competitive performance at affordable prices. It remains to be seen how AMD will position these new models and what their actual ability to conquer the market will be. If the rumors are confirmed, users on a limited budget will soon have new interesting options available to improve the visual and multimedia experience on their PCs. What do you think?
