RELEASE
Monterrey, NL on May 22, 2024.
Shocked by the tragedy, in Movimiento Ciudadano, we express our solidarity with those who were injured tonight and with the families of those who unfortunately lost their lives.
By surprise, the strong winds with hurricane gusts tore down the stage where the campaign closing of our candidate for mayor of San Pedro Lorenia Canavati was taking place, accompanied by Jorge Álvarez Máynez, candidate for the Presidency of the Republic.
Also present were Miguel Sánchez, Coordinator of the MC State Operational Commission, Martha Herrera, candidate for the Senate, Javier González-Álcantara, candidate for federal deputy, district 1 and Víctor Martínez, candidate for local deputy, district 18.
For Movimiento Ciudadano, the priority today is the injured, not only because they are our supporters, but because out of humanity, the wish is that their wounds heal soon.
We are moved and pained by the loss of human life and from now on we express our unconditional support to their families.
Given the facts, we have decided to cancel all campaign events of our candidates, in solidarity with those affected, to focus on their attention and as a sign of mourning for those who unfortunately lost their lives.
