Sanchez in Alpine?
Alpine may once again change its chain of command. The French team could in fact be David's new home Sanchez, former head of the Ferrari aerodynamic sector and technical director of Car Concept and Performance McLaren. Sources within the team contacted by the Japanese spoke about this possibility as-jp.
For the transalpine engineer, Alpine would be the third team in just over a year. A small record due to the sudden farewell first to Ferrari and then to McLaren, the latter leaving a few months after the end of the gardening. Sanchez wants that autonomy which – according to him – would not have been recognized either in Maranello or Woking.
In Alpine he would certainly find himself in a team in difficulty and inefficient at an organizational and management level. Precisely for this reason, it would be a challenge that Sanchez could really accept: if he did so, the Frenchman would find himself faced with a new “triad” of specialized technical directors, made up of Joe Burnell, David Wheater and Ciaron Pilbeam. It would be the same type of organization he fled from when he was at McLaren. It is therefore possible that Sanchez goes to supervise the work of the three, he intervenes between them and the team principal Bruno Famin and becomes the Chief Technical Officer of the team, accompanying it towards the revolution of 2026.
