Alone in the Dark has received a big updatewhich introduces not only the new game plus mode and the photo mode to Pieces Interactive’s survival horror, but also a whole series of extra content and improvements.
It therefore seems that the development team has taken on board the users’ criticisms, moving where possible to improve the user experience remake of Frederick Raynal’s masterpiecewhich in many respects unfortunately disappointed expectations.
The mode new game plus is now accessible once the campaign is completed and allows you to begin the story with all weapons unlocked, a revised difficulty balance, tougher enemies, some new sequences and a completely new alternative introduction.
The improvements
The update, which comes just hours after confirmation that Alone in the Dark sold less than expected, also introduces a series of fixes and improvements of various kindsfixing a long list of more or less serious glitches, as well as something like ninety problems related to collisions.
The developers added two slots for autosavesnew popups to highlight objects in the scenario, a contextual tutorial for dodging when you haven’t used them in combat for a while, and new icons for throwing Molotovs and bricks.
Are so many the fixes regarding combatone of the most criticized aspects of the game: we tried to improve the impact performance, the reaction to hits, the general animations and the timing of hits.
In addition to this, the very long list of changes made also includes interventions related to the stability of the game, performance also on Steam Deck, visual quality, interface and general balance.
