Colombian Alianza FCwith a double from Emerson Batalla and a goal from Jesús Figueroa, managed to overcome a three-goal deficit this Thursday and tie the Brazilian Cruzeiro 3-3, in the heart of Mineirão de Belo Horizonte for Group B of the Copa Sudamericana.
The unexpected and brave draw at home resurrected the Colombian team, which last week debuted in the Sudamericana with a defeat at home against the Chilean Unión La Calera.
The blue team from Belo Horizonte was the clear dominator in the first half and only needed the first 18 minutes of the match, in which Lucas Romero, Zé Ivaldo and Matheus Pereira scored three goals, to leave the result apparently defined.
The Colombian team scored with two goals from Batalla in the second half and hoped for a tie until the last minute, when Figueroa, in the 5th minute of replacement, achieved the equalizer and completed the feat.
Cruzeiro fans are upset with the club's present and made it felt against the owner of the Joint Stock Company that manages it: the former Brazilian soccer player Ronaldo.
After the tie against Alianza, a group of fans burned a giant flag illustrating the Phenomenon in the middle of the street.
The star recently fired Nicolás Larcamón after just four months after losing the state final in the classic against his classic rival, Gabriel Milito's Atlético Mineiro.
