Alleged shortage of gasoline generates chaos in Tamaulipas

Tamaulipas.- This Monday afternoon there was a cyears in the main gas stations in the city of Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, due to the rumor of an alleged shortage of gasoline spread through social networks.

In the messages that circulated on social networks on this subject, drivers were recommended to fill up on fuel and pointed out that they could only buy gasoline that would fit in the car’s tank.

Without checking the origin of the message or consulting official sources, hundreds of drivers went to the nearest gas stations to stock up on the hydrocarbon and thus avoid being left on foot.

The foregoing caused long lines during the midday of this Monday in the Pemex, Oxxo Gas and Gulf gas stations, where they have not had fuel since Sunday.

Despite the chaos generated, the Tamaulipas authorities have not come out to talk about the situation. According to Telediario Nuevo Laredo, the employee of a gas station in the downtown sector explained to them that they have not been supplied and there is no date for them to be supplied with this fossil fuel.

For its part, Sol de Tampico mentioned that there is no shortage of gasoline in Tamaulipasaccording to his Pemex sources, but rather an increase of three to four pesos for fuel is contemplated as of this Tuesday, April 4, derived from the suspension of a fiscal stimulus.

It is worth mentioning that on April 2, 2022, a crisis was generated in Tamaulipas due to the four-peso increase in gasoline imposed by an error by the federal government.
