The Olympic qualifying tournament is the moment of truth for all skaters. Who will qualify for next year’s Winter Games in February? The OKT will start on Sunday in Heerenveen. Due to the corona measures, there is no public welcome in Thialf.
Sven Kramer has to start early on Sunday in the five kilometers. The multiple Olympic champion is already in action in the fourth stage. His opponent is Lex Dijkstra. Kramer’s major competitors will not be next until after the break. Top favorites Patrick Roest and Jorrit Bergsma will meet Marwin Talsma and Beau Snellink respectively in the last two races.

In the 5000 meters for the women and ten kilometers for the men, the two best skaters in principle qualify for the Winter Games in Beijing. In the other three distances, the top 3 will receive an Olympic starting ticket.
However, the KNSB always has points to hand. For example, the mass start and team pursuit are on the program at the OKT. It is possible that the reference points can be used for these parts. The Games will begin next year on Friday, February 4 and end on Sunday, February 22.
