The Annual Report of Activities of the Legal Services of the Community reveals that last year 2,241 legal proceedings were initiated and there were 1,365 sentences
All the health measures adopted by the Community to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic were ratified by the courts of Justice. This follows from the Annual Activity Report 2021 of the Legal Services of the Community, which for the first time has been presented in an act chaired by the head of the regional Executive, Fernando López Miras.
The Legal Services carried out “essential work to face the different challenges caused by the pandemic,” said the president, who stressed that “thanks to their professionalism, autonomy and good work, all the citizens of the Region were more protected against the health crisis”.
Likewise, he recalled that this work “has been essential to ensure that the Region has been the peninsular community with the lowest lethality due to Covid-19.”
In this sense, he recalled that it was necessary to make “difficult and complex decisions that we were able to adopt with the peace of mind of having the guarantee provided by the Legal Services of the Region.”
López Miras stressed that the Report is “the best testimony of the dedication and capacity of each and every one of its members, and of their vocation to serve for a better Region of Murcia for all.” The document reflects that in 2021, 2,241 new judicial procedures were initiated, while at the end of the year there were 3,355 procedures in process.
In addition, the courts issued 1,365 judgments on the Community. Regarding the development of its advisory function, last year the Legal Services issued 132 opinions at the request of the president, the Governing Council and the directors, on different legal issues.
