A four-year-old boy lives vegan because of his love for animals. That’s why there’s a vegan cake on his birthday. But his friends don’t show up.
Kassel/Scarborough – It was actually supposed to be a lively children’s birthday party with friends. The motto: Pokémon. But nothing came of it for the time being for a boy from Australia. The children he invited didn’t show up to the party because of his diet.
Child lives vegan: Friends cancel birthday party because of vegan cake
The boy from Scarborough in the state of Western Australia has been living vegan for several months. This means: He avoids all foods of animal origin, such as milk or meat. That’s apparently enough for his school colleagues not to show up for their planned birthday, the British newspaper reported Daily Mail.
Schoolmates had previously teased the boy about his vegan lifestyle, his 27-year-old mother told the newspaper. When they invited him to his birthday, they simply replied that they wouldn’t come if there was vegan cake. This was ultimately what was to be assumed given the boy’s diet.
Finally, the child’s fears came true. The four-year-old did not receive a response from his friends to the invitation. So no one showed up at the party to celebrate the adolescent’s fifth birthday. Recently Lidl reduced the prices for vegan substitute products.
“He is a passionate vegan”: Child lives vegan – school friends do not respond to invitations
The boy’s mother changed her diet last year. However, she emphasized to her that she did not expect this from her sons, aged four and two Daily Mail. However, when the four-year-old learned what chicken nuggets are made from – his favorite food – he vowed to give up animal products. “He’s a really passionate vegan,” his mother said.
The 27-year-old assumed that the boy probably talked happily about a vegan chocolate cake at school. “They put him down because of it and said they wouldn’t come.” At first, the mother didn’t take the problem too seriously until the deadline for reporting back to the celebration had passed. “We haven’t received a single response to his birthday invitations and no friends have come,” she admitted.
So that the four-year-old could still have a nice birthday, his mother invited parents and their children from a vegan Facebook group – with success. Around twelve children have registered for the Pokémon celebration. “It will be nice for him to find some nice friends with similar interests,” his mother announced.
Because of vegan cake: friends cancel birthday party – “shame”
In any case, the case is attracting attention on social media – the reactions are divided. “Then he can now eat the vegan cake ‘passionately’ alone,” commented one user on Facebook. However, one person asked himself: “In this case, why couldn’t we have bought a normal cake for the other children?”
Another mother described that her three-year-old son also voluntarily gave up animal foods. “As a meat eater, I have never choked on vegan cake, the main thing is that it tastes good!” wrote one user. “As if his friends know what vegan means. This came from the friends’ parents. Shame!” suggested another.
Meanwhile, a pediatrician dispelled myths surrounding vegan diets for children. granny Herta from the Kassel region can do vegan home cooking convince. A sausage manufacturer, on the other hand, doesn’t believe in vegan meat substitutes. (cheese)
