In the context of CES 2024 which will open its doors in Las Vegas tomorrow, Dell presents the innovations relating to the Alienware gaming line.
Dell brought many innovations to the CES 2024 in Las Vegas showcasing many products coming this year; we are talking about laptops, desktop PCs, monitors (here you will find details on the new panels) and other peripherals, all designed to provide the best performance in both gaming and professional environments. As regards laptops, the subject of this news, there will be three: the new one Alienware m16 R2the ultra-premium x16 R2 and top of the range m18 R2.
Let's discover together all the innovations that Dell has introduced in these three laptops, from the evolution of the displays to the integration of the most competitive processors and graphics cards on the market.
Alienware m16 R2
L'Alienware m16 R2 it is the result of a study by the company after receiving a lot of feedback from users, such as the desire to have a laptop capable of finding the right balance between power and light and compact design. The m16 R2 is therefore the result of Dell's design with the aim of creating a product capable of balancing performance and portability while preserving the brand's distinctive trademarks.
The first major change made is the abandonment of the thermal body in favor of a new solution for temperature control to guarantee the m16 R2 an adequate cooling system called Cryo-tech. The company claims that this new technology has led to a 43% increase in airflow efficiency compared to the previous model, thus allowing large workloads to be managed with less effort on the components.
By removing the old thermal shell, Dell has thus saved 15% of space, reducing the size of the laptop, so that a 16-inch will easily fit into a small backpack and will no longer create clutter on a desk or table. Although the dimensions have been reduced, the company has found a way to increase the space for the palm rest and the touchpad, an increase such as to make the experience during use more ergonomic.
Another novelty consists in Stealth mode, born from feedback from users who requested the ability to dim the lights when necessary. This new feature is introduced with a convenient shortcut on the keyboard, so that with a tap on the F2 key, the keyboard and the lighting surrounding the touchpad turn white, turning off all other AlienFX lighting zones and automatically switching from Performance mode a Silent to reduce fan noise.
The new Alienware m16 R2 will have different hardware combinations with Intel Core Ultra H Series CPU in combo with NVIDIA RTX cards, up to RTX 4070. Added to this is support for Dolby Atmos to make the audio experience from the two enhanced speakers even more immersive. The screen mounted on this laptop is QHD+ 240 Hz with a 16:10 aspect ratio. Finally, among the improvements worth mentioning we mention a now larger 90 Wh battery with NVIDIA Advanced Optimus for intelligent power management to optimize the power balance between CPU and GPU. The Alienware m16 R2 will be available starting January 11th with a starting price of 1649.99 dollars which can go up to 2249.99 dollars for the most powerful configuration. An entry level version will be available after a few months starting at $1499.99.
