The Federation of Moors and Christians of Murcia took over last night at the head of its board of directors with the return of Alfonso Gálvez Pérez to the presidency of the festive entity. Gálvez Pérez thus replaces Javier Arenas, who has led the entity for the last seven years and who had decided to make way for a new team. After a process in which elections were called to elect the new board and after the first term was void, a second period was opened in which Gálvez Pérez emerged as the only candidate.
Two weeks after the candidacy presentation process, the vote count took place last night in the presence of the presidents of the fifteen associations at the federation headquarters, who unanimously chose Alfonso Gálvez. The new president left office in 2016 after two terms, giving way to Arenas' management. Among his objectives is to achieve recognition of International Tourist Interest, improve the conditions of the camp and create a cultural program accessible to the population.
