The Germans also like the Alfa Romeo Tonale. After the Junior, the C-segment SUV has also been awarded a design prize, this time by the readers of the magazine AUTO Straßenverkehr. In fact, the model from the Arese brand was first in two categories at the “Family Car of the Year” in the price range between 35,000 and 45,000 euros.
Double prize for Tonale
The Alfa Romeo Tonale took first place in the imported vehicles category and also in the overall ranking, obtaining 7.3% of the total votes, thus beating out competition from several German brands. “The choice of AUTO Straßenverkehr readers to reward the Tonale design testifies to the success of a winning formula that combines attractive design and extraordinary practicality of use for families,” commented Stefan Cerchez, editor-in-chief of AUTO Straßenverkehr. In order to be eligible for the “Family Car of the Year” Awards, vehicles must offer family benefits: for example, one of the minimum criteria is a boot volume of at least 400 litres.
Alfa Romeo’s comment
Niccolò Biagioli, head of the Alfa Romeo brand in Germany, welcomed the award as follows: “Our product range is generally aimed at customers with an innate sporty spirit, lovers of technology, innovation and Italian design. But not only that, it is in fact a huge pleasure to see how the Alfa Romeo Tonale is actually also appreciated by a much wider audience, especially families, thanks to its extraordinary practicality”.
