American Alfa Romeo enthusiasts were among those who most desired and hoped for a debut of one Coupe variant of the Giulia. At the moment the car manufacturer of the Biscione does not seem to be willing to proceed in this direction, yet some renderings have appeared on the web that imagine what a Coupe variant of the iconic Italian sedan could look like. It was the designer Maxim Shershnevwhich boasts past with Volkswagen, Audi, Renault and Marussia, to predict how Alfa Romeo could behave if it decided to give life to a Giulia Coupè.
The work carried out by Shershnev was to take a cue from the design of the Giulia and Stelvio models to give life to a model completely different from the other two: although the aesthetic differences are not few, the stylistic influence which derives from Giulia and Stelvio is evident above all in the headlights and taillights, in the radiator grille, in the wheels, in the flat bonnet and in the rounded roof. To these recall elements are added others developed from scratch by the designer, such as the cut line of the B-pillar, the bumper strip and the shapes of the sides. Then stands out in the back the presence of a central exhaust terminallocated in the lower part of the bumper, triangular in shape, another detail that recalls the iconic Alfa Romeo trilobo.
It is difficult to think today which powertrain could be hidden under the bonnet of this Giulia Coupè, but considering the current times it is reasonable to expect the presence of some form of electrification. In any case, at least for now, it is only pure fantasy: some rumors had emerged in the past according to which Alfa Romeo had in mind to prepare a new GTV coupe, but the Alfa car manufacturer has never confirmed them. All that remains is to wait, then.
