Alex Lora, the leader of the legendary Mexican group El Tri, arrives in our country today to embark on a national tour, where he will present his album Qué chingón, which has among its novelties a collaboration with the Peruvian musician Marcello Motta. “Working with Peruvian artists will always be a pleasure. I already did it with the teacher Eva Ayllón, Miki González, Pedro Suárez Vértiz, Los Nosequi and Los Nosecuántos, Río; so this, without a doubt, will also be a great occasion and I hope that more opportunities will continue to be given. After the pandemic, in August we have already begun to have the opportunity to resume our concerts and what better than the reunion with the beautiful Peruvian public, ”says Alex Lora over the phone in conversation with La República.
“Peru is our second homeland and I do not say this out of commitment. Our main field of action was the United States and Mexico, but we cannot deny that since we arrived in Peru for the first time, they simply made us feel at home. And this time we will be in part of its beautiful territory such as: Huancayo (16), Lima (17), where we will be with Mar de Copas, Zen, Amen with Marcello Motta, Olaya Sound System, 6 Voltios, La Nueva Invasión. Daniel F and Serial Killer; Arequipa (18), Cajamarca (23) and Trujillo (24)”.
What the hell brings classics like ‘Sad song’, ‘When you’re not there’, ‘Metro Balderas’, ‘Everything is for rock and roll’, ‘Las Piedras Rodantes’, among other compositions in which ‘La Pandemic’ stands out, along with Marcello Mottadedicated to musicians who fell victim to the virus, such as Armando Manzanero and Charlie Monttana.
With guitar in hand, the famous musician says that in December he will be 70 years old and confesses that “the pandemic and the ‘cuareterna’ made us think that at any moment everything was going to end. So many people who have gone ahead have left us the lesson that at any moment everything can end. We were left with the premise that we should enjoy life to the fullest. During the confinement, with my ‘tamer’, (wife) we did catharsis from home through streaming, which was difficult, it was not the same singing to a camera, having the audience on the other side of the screen whom we could not see. It wasn’t the same as being with them and feeling, singing with them and maybe letting off steam together,” he says.
For the remainder of the year, Lora has two important projects pending: her bioseries and her appearance on ‘Divina comer’ (HBO). “The series is being written and seeing the best proposals to take it to the small screen. Another point to decide is who will play both my tamer and me. While in ‘Divine food’, we are a chef. I will receive the guests in my house and they will taste our food. “How about I cook? The truth is that my ‘tamer’ will help me”.
