The head of the Central Court of Instruction number 2 of the National Court, Ismael Moreno, summoned on Thursday the commissioner of the Koldo case, Víctor de Aldama, after he asked to voluntarily testify in the procedure in a document sent by his defense that he would change the trend maintained until now, since this businessman has been choosing to remain silent both before the investigators and before the judge.
According to the documentation to which ABC had access, Aldama, who is in provisional prison for a case about a million-dollar fraud in hydrocarbons that another court of the National Court is pursuing, has chosen to give a statement, something he did not do after being arrested last February, when he exercised his right not to testify.
His writing does not detail the reasons, but his willingness to respond to the questioning that the magistrate and the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office want to pose. «We inform that Hon. Investigative Court that Mr. de Aldama has expressed in his defense his intention to give a voluntary statement before the Ilmo. Investigative Court answering, in order to guarantee your right to defense, all questions that may be asked by the Ilmo. Investigating Magistrate, the Hon. representative of the Prosecutor’s Office and its defense,” he specifies.
He asked the judge to agree “on his statement immediately” and that was the case. The instructor has summoned him on November 21 at ten in the morning, even before the witnesses and defendants who are scheduled to hear statements next week and who directly affect the commission agent arrive: it is a woman who belongs to his complete trust, Piedad Losada, and has accompanied him in various businesses over the years, but also with his partners in different initiatives, the nicknamed “musketeers” of Aldama, and a handful of civil guards called to testify about their relationships. with a commander who is accused of his alleged collaboration with the plot.
«Declaration immediately»
This movement has the rest of the defenses holding their breath, according to the legal sources consulted by ABC. Aldama was described by the Civil Guard as the “corrupting nexus” in this case that is being pursued for crimes of criminal organization, influence peddling and money laundering, among others, based on the Ministry of Transport’s mask contracts that he managed. for the instrumental company Soluciones de Gestión in pandemic thanks to the relationship it had with the advisor of the then minister José Luis Ábalos, Koldo García.
And Aldama, a bridge between the three, is also a bridge with respect to that handful of businessmen who are being investigated and with whom he would be associated in various businesses, all of whom are under suspicion of having helped him hide assets abroad when it was known that he was being investigated by the Agency. Tax: Ignacio Díaz Tapia, César Moreno and Javier Serrano, as well as Alberto Escolano.
The culmination, his direct relationship with the Information Commander of the Civil Guard Rubén Villalba, also investigated and suspected of being in the pay of the plot. Aldama was among the collaborators of his unit and he was responsible for managing these sources. It is presumed that the commission agent would have been sending him payments at a rate of 2,000 euros per month until completing cash income in his accounts of over 88,000 euros of unknown origin.
