Alarm at Querétaro Bus Terminal; They report the spill of a dangerous chemical

A mobilization of firefighters and rescuers was registered in the Querétaro bus terminal, due to the report that a dangerous chemical substance that could put the population at risk.

The events were recorded around 4:15 p.m. this Friday, at the terminal located in the Centro Sur neighborhood, where elements of the Querétaro Fire Department were mobilized.

According to what was shared by the firefighters themselves and by the Municipal Coordination of Civil Protection of Querétaro, they received the report to the 911 Emergency System of a possible spill of a chemical substance.

Upon arrival at the terminal, they intervened and confined, with equipment specialized in handling hazardous materials (HazMat); in addition to carrying out measurements and monitoring of the area.

After verifying that there were no injured people or risks in the bus terminal and surrounding areas, they reported that the place could now be disposed of safely and they left the area.

Local media reported that it was in the parcel area of ​​room A, where a bucket with apparent chemicals was located. The report was made because a gas cloud with a strange smell was produced.

Apparently, the chemical reacted with the heat so it released that gas cloud; The firefighters protected the bucket.

Although the bus terminal was not completely evacuated, the entry of trucks was limited to avoid any type of damage and to facilitate maneuvers with the chemical product.
