Alan Wake 2 will receive a new one on March 6th update That improves performance of gaming on PC, especially with NVIDIA GTX and RTX video cards. Well, according to Digital Foundry's analysis, this is a notable step forward.
Alex Battaglia reports that a problem occurs on a GTX 1060 45% increase in performance on average, with some scenarios in particular even seeing a tripling of the values previously recorded. And the situation improves on GTX 1070 (+57%), GTX 1080 (+85%) and GTX 1080 Ti (over +100%).
The fastest selling Remedy game ever, Alan Wake 2 aims to increase its user base also through optimization mechanisms that can make the experience lighter in terms of hardware requirements, and therefore suitable for a greater number of PCs.
Also good on RTX 40 series
Although the new Alan Wake 2 update was designed in particular to improve the performance of the game on older GPUs, those with Pascal architecture, apparently RTX 40 family models also benefit from the patch, although to a substantially lesser extent.
There is little good news for owners of AMD video cards, however: crashes and freezes continue to occur on some GPUs, while performance improves only marginally on the most recent products.
