Al-Burhan has relieved a number of officials, including diplomats, from their posts, since the measures taken by the army on the 25th of October.
Earlier, Al-Taher Abu Haja, media advisor to the Sudanese army commander, said that the measures taken by the army are “in order to correct the course in the transitional phase, which followed the fall of the Omar al-Bashir regime.”
Abu Haja added in a statement that the Sudanese army will not allow any party to exploit the transitional period to achieve a narrow partisan agenda that does not accommodate national goals.
And the Sudanese army announced, last week, the dissolution of the Sovereignty Council and the Council of Ministers and declared a state of emergency, saying that it was forced to take this step after the political forces rejected proposals made to solve the country’s crises.
The order was met with protests by the political forces supporting the government of Abdullah Hamdok, and these protests demanded the return of a civilian-led government to take power in the country.
