Al-Nasr was crowned champion of the Federation Cup Table Tennis, which launched the competitions of the new season, after its victory in the final over Sharjah 3-1, where the coronation ceremony of the “Brigade” took place, in the presence of Hassan Al Zarooni, Secretary-General of the Federation, and Abdul Rahman Al Menhali, Board Member and Financial Director.
The Federation Cup witnessed radical changes to the competition system, with the participation of 5 clubs and 5 registered academies teams. The list of participants included Al Nasr, Sharjah, Al Wasl, Shabab Al Ahly, and Al Orouba, and the academies represented in Al Wasl, Abu Dhabi, RSA, Sharjah 1 and Sharjah 2.
The new amendment to the competition system aims to expand the participation opportunities for communities and residents in the official competitions of the Federation, which in turn gives the clubs wider opportunities to attract talent from promising players, and also contributes to community cohesion by expanding the base of participation.
For his part, Mohamed Abdel-Rahim Faraidooni, a member of the board of directors of Al-Nasr Sports Games, valued the ideal start for the club’s table team for the new season, following the decision to rely on “young faces” and inject new blood into the teams that represent the “brigadier” in the game, and said, “We are happy with the beginning.” We are looking forward to winning the FA Cup as a catalyst for the rest of the participations at the level of team, singles and doubles competitions.”
