Lieutenant-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, witnessed the launch of the Palm Deira Cycling Race, and Al Ahli youth dominated the first three places – Senior Clubs category, in the presence of Mansour Bouassiba, President of the Federation, and with the participation of 132 participants from amateur teams and clubs in one launch. Helped him to reach an average speed of 45.6 for the winner of the 91km race.
Al-Ahly youth riders succeeded in winning the first three places in the senior club race, which are: Jaber Al-Mansoori, Abdul Rahman Al-Balushi, Muhammad Al-Mansoori, and the U-23 category. Al-Ahly Youth” is in third place.
The race was attended by Khalifa bin Omair, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Yasser Al Dokhi, Secretary General of the Federation, Kholoud Al Dhaheri, Head of the Women’s Committee, and Nayef Jaka, Chairman of the Referees Committee.
Mansour Bouasaiba, President of the Federation, thanked Nakheel Company for organizing this wonderful race on the Palm Deira, and their constant cooperation with the Federation to organize local league races, given the area’s space that allows for good cycling.
The Federation organized the women’s race for 36 km and the youth for a distance of 60 km. The Chairman of the Board of Directors also attended the race competitions, as well as Yasser Al Doukhi and Kholoud Al Dhaheri, Chairperson of the Women’s Committee, who gave the signal for the start of the race.
Kholoud Al Dhaheri confirmed that the coming period will witness an increase in interest in the women’s and young women’s team, to increase the participation base and include new players for the national teams, after the great success in the Arab Cycling Championship in Egypt, and the race witnessed good levels in the race and a high speed rate that shows the extent of interest in the game on the part of the players.
