This electric car went on sale in China on November 7. And, when there were only 12 minutes after opening orders, more than 10,000 people had already reserved one.
The figure is impressive. And so is it the number of orders it achieved during the first 24 hours: 31,528 units reserved.
This electric car has not come close to the madness that broke out in China when the car went on sale last March. Xiaomi SU7which reached 90,000 reservations during its first day of opening orders. But it has meant a record of orders for its manufacturer.
This is the Xpeng P7+
We talk about Xpeng P7+, a sedan similar to the Xpeng P7 that Xpeng sells in Spain, along with the G6 and G9 SUVs. It maintains an aesthetic very similar to the P7, but grows in size to 5.06 meters -compared to the 4.88 m of the P7-. Curiously, it does share the 3.0 m wheelbase with the model on sale in Spain.
Its interior stands out for its clean features, only broken by a huge 15.6-inch central multimedia screen -the driver, as an instrument panel, has another 10.25”- and to equip elements such as leather upholstery or a 2.1 square meter panoramic sunroof. In addition, rear passengers will be able to enjoy an 8” central multimedia screen.
On the other hand, the Xpeng P7+ It offers a 725 L trunk, which can be expanded if the rear seat backrests are folded down to 2,221 L.
In the mechanical section, the Xpeng P7+ is on sale in China with two engines, one with 180 kW/241 HP and 450 Nm of torque and the other with 230 kW/308 HP and, likewise, 450 Nm of torque.
Both engines can be combined with two LFP type batteries: the first 60.7 kWh and the second 76.3 kWh which offer an autonomy – approved under the Chinese CLTC cycle – of 602 km and 710 km respectively.
But the Xpeng P7+ will reach up to 725 kilometers of autonomy
But be careful, because the CEO of Xpeng, He Xiaopeng, has indicated that, in December of this year, the P7+ will get an update of software via OTA that It will increase its autonomy to between 615 and 725 km.
The reason for the improved autonomy is that, according to Xiaopeng, the P7+ rIt will further reduce its consumption and leave it at a very low 11.4 kWh/100 km. And be careful, even though the Xpeng P7+ has an excellent aerodynamic coefficient of only 0.26; This consumption is somewhat difficult to believe.
Although, in part, it is explained taking into account that this figure has been approved by the Chinese CLTC cycle, which compared to the European WLPT cycle, is less precise and much more optimistic, so that it offers consumption of up to 25 or 30%. less than the real ones. And autonomy, therefore, much greater.
Although Xpeng has not yet confirmed that this model can arrive in Europeeverything seems like it should, following the path of the aforementioned P7, G6 and G9. Of course, it would always do so from the second half of 2025.
