The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has updated its alert for rain in Valencia and has lowered it from red to orange the warning for the second DANA that hits the province in just fifteen days. “The worst is already over,” warn meteorologists after a night of intense rainfall in the Cullera and Sueca area.
According to the latest forecast issued, the warning is reduced to orange on the coast of Valencia and raised to the same color on the northern coast of Alicante, where it rains heavily in the beaches of Denia. Thus, they will be in force until 12:00 p.m. this Thursday, when the storm is expected to begin to subside.
The second DANA that has arrived in the Valencian Community -15 days after a previous one that has left, for the moment, 216 dead – has forced rescates, new road closures and surveillance of reservoirs and dams.
As reported by ‘112 Comunitat Valenciana’, during the night the Valencia Consortium firefighters mobilized four crews to attend to four rescues. In addition, the Mobility Services Management Center (Cegesem) has reported two new road closures during the night: CV-374 and CV-460.
Surveillance of reservoirs and dams is also maintained. Some of them, like Ulldecona or María Cristina They have carried out discharges through the spillway to control the flow. For its part, ‘112’ has received, since midnight, a total of 99 calls and has managed 80 incidents, mainly in Camp del Turia and l’Horta Sud.
