Interesting internal movements are taking place at Microsoft: as highlighted by the newspaper Windows Central, Activision – Blizzard is absorbing some of the staff of King, another company under Microsoft, in order to create a new internal team.
This team, as reported in the article, will have the task of creating games of high quality double A (AA) leveraging the company’s best-known franchises.
Since King is a team famous in particular for mobile products (see the immortal Candy Crush) nothing prevents us from assuming that the titles referred to could be designed for mobile devices.
According to Windows Central, Microsoft’s strategy for the near future would be, not by chance, to create less ambitious games than AAA games using leaner and easier to manage teams.
May this be the right strategy for emerge from a period of crisis which has seen, in recent months, the closure of important development studios such as Tango Gameworks and others? Only time will tell, but Microsoft’s intentions appear to be quite solid.

May the time have finally come for Overwatch 2 mobile port? It seems like one of the most plausible options to us, but to know more, we will have to wait a little longer, given that the team is apparently in an initial phase of internal structuring.
