Last week it was announced that 1,900 people had been fired from Microsoft Gaming, where we find Xbox, Bethesda, Activision Blizzard, and many more studies. Unfortunately, today it has been revealed that Activision Blizzard's eSports division has suffered a strong blowsince multiple people have lost their jobs.
This information first emerged as a rumor, but was eventually confirmed by multiple people working in this area. This tragic event took place two days after the Call of Duty League concluded its Boston Breach Major I event. Scott Parkin, former senior manager of eSports operations at Activision Blizzard, confirmed this news through his official Twitter account, and expressed his frustration:
“They did it, they really did it. They let us work with it over our heads and fired us on our first day off. The lack of common decency is a joke.”
For its part, Matt Morello, host of this division, also confirmed that he had been fired:
“Unfortunately, today, along with many other amazing people in esports, I have been let go from Blizzard. Choosing Overwatch and working behind the scenes planning some of the best years we've had with Overwatch Esports and next year with the new OWCS was a dream come true. Hopefully I can stay involved in the OW scene in the future, but if anyone wants to talk about product, production, and talent work, the email is in my bio <3.”

For now It is unknown if these new layoffs are part of the 1,900 that were announced last week, or if this is part of a new wave of layoffs. Regarding the eSports division, sources close to Insider Gaming have indicated that this department will continue to exist, but will be restructured to be in line with the company's new plans.
For its part, Neither Activision Blizzard nor Xbox have issued a statement related to these new layoffs., and they probably won't. On related topics, Xbox closes its physical games department. Likewise, fans attack this decision by Xbox.
Editor's Note:
This is a real shame. Worst of all, these layoffs come just a few days after the end of a long work day for this division. I hope all workers find a new company that values their jobs, and don't get fired after a series of massive contracts.
