Several K-trains have been canceled since Wednesday morning due to a rail traffic accident at Koivukylä railway station in Vantaa.
One person died in the accident, according to the East-Uusimaa Police Department. Based on preliminary information, no crime is suspected in the incident.
The rescue service was alerted to the accident a little after seven in the morning.
At least six K-trains passing through Koivukylä station have been cancelled.
Helsinki regional transport (HSL) communication says that disruptions in train traffic will continue for the time being.
“It is known that the accident will affect train traffic for the time being. The authorities are investigating the situation”, Joona Packalén He told HS about HSL’s communication at around 8:30 in the morning.
According to Packalén, every other K-train has been cancelled. More detailed information about canceled trains can be found at HSL of disturbance notices.
