A night-time road accident claimed the lives of two young foreigners on the northern ring road of Pescara. The car in which they were travelling, a black Alfa Romeo coupé, crashed into the internal wall of the I Pianacci tunnel, after having hit another car. The victims are Adriana Elena Bursuc32 years old of Romanian origins and resident in San Benedetto del Tronto, e Senadi Begani, 23 years old of Moldovan origin and resident in Pescara.

According to the dynamics reconstructed by the Pescara traffic police, around 3 am the Alfa Romeo was headed north and, after touching another car on the side, skidded and ended up against the wall of the tunnel, at kilometer 1380 Both young men were traveling without seatbelts, and recovery of their bodies was complicated due to damage to the vehicle.

The 118 health officials were only able to ascertain the death of the man and the woman, while the firefighters had to cut the roof of the car. The causes of the accident are still under investigation, but it would appear that thehigh speed was a determining factor. The testimonies of the people traveling in the other vehicle involved will also be fundamental for the reconstruction of what happened.

The bodies are awaiting autopsy examination and the investigations are being conducted by the public prosecutor Fabiana Rapino. It is important to underline that the story highlights once again the importance of road prevention. Last year, in Italy, 1,384 victims of road accidents were recorded, a worrying number that calls attention to safety standards behind the wheel.
