Genoa – Empoli announced the match through an official press release termination of the last year of the contract still binding sporting director Pietro Accardi to the Tuscan club. This is the press release: “Empoli Football Club announces that it has reached an agreement with Sports Director Pietro Accardi for the early termination of the contract. Accardi leaves Empoli after 12 years, after a long and important journey, which began as a footballer and then continued as a manager. Arrived in blue in 2012, was part of Mr. Sarri’s squad for two seasons, ending his career in May 2014 with promotion to Serie A. In the summer of the same year he took on the role of Team Manager and then, in 2017, became Sports Director. During his managerial career he achieved two direct promotions to Serie A, winning the championship in both cases, and five survivals in the top flight as well as contributing substantially to the growth and development of the club. The most heartfelt and sincere thanks go to Director Pietro Accardi for the work done in these 12 years and the greatest wishes for the sporting and professional future.”
Now there Sampdoria will be able to close and define the bureaucratic part of the three-year contract with which Accardi will be linked to the Sampdoria club.
