Nearly a hundred fans demonstrated at the gates of the Montjuïc Olympic stadium minutes before the match due to the closure of the entertainment stands announced by Barça this Tuesday.
Instead of the 600 fans who usually occupy the entertainment stands, on this occasion 100 people gathered outside the stadium with a banner that read ‘Salvem l’Espai d’Animació’. The protest has been peaceful and there have been no incidents. Only chants in favor of the cheering crowd.
Unlike the Champions League match against Brest, in which the seats were empty, this time they are occupied because the club has invited supporters from the Barcelonés region.
Barça decided to close the cheering stands ‘sine die’ because they are demanding that the clubs that make up the stands pay the fines that have been incurred this season for their bad behavior and which amount to 21,000 euros. The club set a deadline of midnight last Monday, at which point they made the decision to close it.
For the moment, the club has not agreed to meet with the groups until they pay the 21,000 euros in fines they accumulate.
