Mourning in international and Spanish football. Abdelaziz Barradaformer footballer Getafe and Olympique de Marseille, among other teams, died at the age of 35 in France this Thursday as a result of a heart attackaccording to the Moroccan newspaper Hespress.
Signed in July 2007 by Paris Saint-Germain for their youth teams, Barrada joined Getafe’s B subsidiary four years laterwho said goodbye to his former footballer with an emotional message spread on social networks.
“The Getafe CF family is shocked by the death of the azulón Abdel Barrada. Our memory and support at this time to Abdel’s family and friends. RIP”, lamented the blue team, remembering the career of the midfielder.
With the Madrid team, Barrada scored eight goals and gave nine assists in 66 games in the two seasons he defended his shirt (in the 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 seasons). In the summer of 2013, the Moroccan international completed his signing for Al-Jazira and a season later he landed at Olympique de Marseille.
“Rest in peace Abdelaziz,” said the French club. “Arriving in the summer of 2014, the attacking midfielder wore the colors of OM for two seasons. The club would like to offer its deepest condolences to his family and share the pain of those closest to you“, he concluded.
Throughout his career as a professional player, which ended in the summer of 2021, Barrada wore the Gimnàstic de Tarragona shirt on loan during the second half of the 2018/19 academic year.
