A worker dies after a collapse at the Lluís Vives school in Massanassa, affected by DANA

The Lluís Vives school in Massanassa, seriously affected by the floods caused by DANA on October 29, has suffered a collapse that has taken several people inside, among whom apparently were workers from the Tragsa company, accompanied by members of the Military Emergency Unit (UME), who were working on the inspection, cleaning and recovery of the building. The fall of the roof has caused the death of a worker.

Agents from the National Police Homicide Group and the Scientific Police Brigade of Valencia are investigating the causes of the collapse on Sunday morning, at the school located on Joanot Martorell Street in Massanassa, where part of a walkway has fallen. which has caused one operator to die and another to be injured in a leg. In addition, two UME soldiers were initially trapped, without being injured.

The Emergency Coordination Center of the Generalitat has reported that a notice of a collapse has been received in this center in this town of l’Horta Sud, one of the municipalities affected by the storm. Health professionals, firefighters from the Torrent i Catarroja parks and the UME are already there.

The president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, has traveled to Massanassa from Alicante, and the Government delegate in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, who has confirmed the existence of a fatality.
