In this edition of Una Semana en El Mundo we ask ourselves why the US is asking the UK to extradite Julian Assange. Before the High Court in London, the defense of the founder of 'Wikileaks' has appealed the extradition, arguing that Assange would not have a fair trial in a US court. Washington accuses the Australian of violating the espionage law for publishing documents on US war crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan.
On the other hand, we also analyze how two years of Russian invasion of Ukraine have altered the international order, when this Saturday marks two years since Russian President Vladimir Putin gave the order to start his so-called “special military operation.” Finally, we address the impact of the third US veto in the UN Security Council against a new ceasefire resolution in the Gaza Strip.
For the analysis we have Fidel Narváez, former consul of Ecuador in London; with Ivanna López, international editor of Channel 13 in Chile, and with Nicolay Abril, international journalist and broadcast head of NTN24.
