A total of 20,332 unaccompanied migrant minors have arrived irregularly in Spain from 2019 to September 30 of this year, according to the Government.
This is stated by the Executive in a written response to a battery of questions recorded in Congress by Voxwhich also questioned the number of repatriation procedures.
On the other hand, in another written response, in response to a question from EH Bilduthe Government indicates that between 2019 and 2023, 318 applications for international protection of unaccompanied minors were submitted. Specifically, it details that in 2019 98 were registered, in 2020 43, in 2021 50, in 2022 94 and in 2023 31.
From January 1 to November 15, a total of 54,216 migrants have arrived in Spain irregularly, which is 15.8% more than in the same period of 2023 when 46,811 arrived. Of the total, 39,713 did so to the Canary Islands, according to the latest balance sheet from the Ministry of the Interior.
In this last week of November, more than 900 migrants have arrived on the Spanish coast this week irregularly, half of them to the Canary Islands.
