The Emirates Health Services Corporation announced that Al Dhaid Hospital in the Emirate of Sharjah provides new and innovative services to patients and reviewers, including a new device for dialysis patients in the intensive care unit, which contributed to improving their safety and reducing the transfer of cases of kidney patients to other hospitals.
She stated that the hospital currently provides a smart application that can be downloaded on tablets that helps to communicate with patients who suffer from the inability to speak for health reasons, and it includes seven sections, to identify the patient’s feelings, needs, cleaning requests, the degree of pain and the patient’s sensitivity, and the patient can choose the language and the voice of the translator. It also applied a smart electronic system to call nurses, with the aim of meeting patients’ needs, through the use of a communication device that contains multiple buttons connected to a smart watch in patients’ hands, which facilitates the process of communication and meeting needs in better ways to save time and effort.
The Foundation indicated that the new services depend on artificial intelligence techniques, modern technology, and a selection of medical and nursing cadres with experience and high efficiency.
Dr. Essam Al Zarouni, Executive Director of the Medical Services Sector in the Corporation, confirmed the application of international standards in managing the infrastructure of health facilities, and building quality, therapeutic and health safety systems in accordance with best practices.
For her part, the hospital director and chairwoman of the executive committee, Salama Saeed Al Ketbi, said, “Al Dhaid Hospital has strengthened its competitiveness, by providing a package of smart electronic services, to lead the electronic transformation in the hospital, and has also adopted international best practices and work systems.”
She pointed out that the electronic transformation in the hospital exceeded 92%, through the electronic health information system “Wareed”, and relying on the common files of all departments in their various specializations, through which knowledge is disseminated to employees, and procedures, policies, decisions and indicators are reviewed periodically.
She talked about the experience of telemedicine in all outpatient clinics, explaining that the hospital currently includes 29 medical devices, among the most modern in the world.
